Hungary launches Youth Pilot Programme: Training tomorrow’s aviators

Launching the Youth Pilot Programme was necessary, the parliamentary state secretary of the defence ministry said on Sunday, adding that no country should rely solely on foreign training programmes.
Tamás Vargha said at the opening of the 30th Börgöndi air show held near Székesfehervar, in central Hungary, that the new programme was coordinated from Szolnok and available at several bases in the country, held in cooperation with the Ludovika University of Public Service.
Vargha said that air shows were key in drawing children and young people to flying. Thanks to the years-long development of the Hungarian Air Forces, there were several modern aircraft at hand, and the programme would help train the pilots to use them, he said.
