PM Orbán’s new target: the antifa movement could be labeled a terrorist organisation in Hungary

The Prime Minister will propose that Antifa movement be designated a terrorist organisation in Hungary. Viktor Orbán announced this on Friday during his regular appearance on Kossuth Radio’s show Good Morning, Hungary!
Orbán follows Trump’s lead
“The time has come in Hungary, following the American model, to classify organisations like Antifa as terrorist groups,” said Viktor Orbán, referring to American President Donald Trump’s announcement earlier this week of his intention to make a similar designation.
The Prime Minister welcomed the US leader’s decision and said he will initiate a similar move in Hungary.
Orbán: ‘antifa is a terrorist organisation; they attacked people in Budapest’
He stated, “Antifa is indeed a terrorist organisation; they have come to Hungary as well, assaulted peaceful people on the streets—some were beaten nearly to death—and then went on to become Members of the European Parliament, from where they lecture Hungary on the rule of law and the left. This is outrageous,” he added.

Following Donald Trump’s example, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó proposed that the Antifa movement be declared a terrorist organisation in a letter sent Saturday to Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

In a statement issued by the ministry to MTI, Szijjártó reaffirmed that Hungary is firmly committed to combating terrorism and has implemented strict measures using all available legal tools against politically motivated violent groups.

Multiple attacks across Europe
He pointed out that in recent years, individuals and groups linked to Antifa ideology have carried out numerous terrorist attacks in EU member states, including Germany, France and Italy.
He expressed particular concern over Hungarian citizens and institutions having become targets. He recalled that in February 2023, foreign members of this movement carried out five brutal daytime attacks in Budapest on innocent civilians.

“Much to our regret, several perpetrators later found refuge in EU member states that refused Hungary’s extradition requests. In one especially troubling case, criminal proceedings had to be suspended when a suspect was elected as a Member of the European Parliament and thus granted immunity,” he noted.
Antifa movement: a serious threat
Szijjártó argued that these actions clearly demonstrate Antifa poses a serious threat to the safety of EU citizens. “It is our shared responsibility to strengthen our collective response,” he warned.
He also pointed out that the United States faces similar challenges, which is why Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he would classify the movement as a terrorist organisation.
“Hungary firmly believes that in a matter of such importance, our actions must be coordinated with the United States, the global leader in the fight against terrorism,” the minister wrote.

Antifa should be labelled a terrorist organisation within the EU, as well
“Accordingly, I respectfully propose that the European Union follow suit and add the Antifa movement to its list of terrorist organisations, and introduce the necessary restrictive measures against associated groups and individuals. We believe that the Executive Order issued by the President of the United States provides a suitable legal foundation for such a step,” he concluded.
US President Donald Trump announced via social media this week that he would classify “the sick, dangerous, radical-left disaster” Antifa as a terrorist organisation, and would “strongly urge for its financiers to be thoroughly investigated under the highest standards of legal scrutiny”.

Damn straight. They are literally nothing but a bunch of screeching, violent thugs.
They never debate, they never discuss; they just attack.
They are the globalists’ stormtroopers and they need to be taken out.
ANTIFA are a serious threat! They always have been and always will be.
Thank Goodness Trump is waking up to this!
A “movement” cannot be classified as an “organization”. There is no ANIFA organization. No leader, no budget, no headquarters. This move is so that Victor can call anyone a member of ANTIFA even though there is no membership card. Anyone that opposes him can be classified as a “terrorist” which makes his life easier to jail and trial anyone that disagrees. To Steiner (whoever you are), lets see the receipts for your claims. As for a comparison to Trump, hahahahahahaha. He would drop Victor like a hot potato if Victor is done being his lacky.
