Orbán after ANO won in Czechia: Truth has triumphed!

“Truth has triumphed!” – wrote Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on his social media account on Saturday, following the victory of Andrej Babiš’s party ANO in the Czech parliamentary elections.

The Prime Minister stated: “Andrej Babiš won the Czech parliamentary elections with a convincing majority. A big step for the Czech Republic, good news for Europe.” “Congratulations, Andrej!” – Orbán added in his post.

Péter Szijjártó: Bravo, Andrej Babiš

“Bravo, Andrej Babiš,” wrote Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó on Saturday on his social media page, after Babiš’s party secured victory in the Czech elections. He added: “Bravo, ANO and Motoristé! Another patriotic government in Central Europe! The V4 will soon be revived!”

Andrej Babiš aims to form a single-party government

Opposition leader Andrej Babiš, who won the elections in the Czech Republic, announced at his first press conference after the results were published that his goal is to form a single-party government. He intends to negotiate support with the Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD) movement as well as with the Motoristé party.

The leader of ANO (Action of Dissatisfied Citizens) ruled out any talks with the current governing parties, which he accused of having ruined the Czech Republic and of failing to deliver on their election promises. “We have always kept our promises, and it will be the same this time. Our goal is for the Czech Republic to be the best place to live in Europe,” he declared.

Babiš confirmed that he wishes to return as prime minister and expressed confidence that the government formation process would proceed without major difficulties. He said the government would provide a public report on its work every six months.

Answering a question, he also stated that “at the first meeting of our government, we will reject the migration pact.” The opposition leader described ANO’s election result as a “historic success,” calling it “the absolute peak” of his political career. At the press conference, Babiš stressed that the election victory was “the result of teamwork” and thanked voters for their support.

Prime Minister Petr Fiala, speaking at his own press conference, acknowledged the defeat of the governing side and congratulated Andrej Babiš on his victory. Fiala remarked that in these elections “extreme and populist forces have won.” “In a democracy, the results of elections must be accepted, and we have now done so,” he told journalists.

With 99% of voting districts counted, ANO was leading on 34.7% and Spolu in second on 23.2%, according to Reuters.

  1. “single-party government”

Great, another populist authoritarion ruler has emerged. I can only wonder why people are so willing vote for these populist authoritarians and give up freedom of press and freedon in many other fields in society. Seems more likely that EU is breaking down to smaller blocs, and maybe that is not such a bad thing as co-operation in EU is getting harder than ever. Sadly so.

    • People keep voting for “populists” because we’re sick to the back teeth of having agenda dreamed up by mega-rich foreign megalomaniacs rammed down our throats.

We do NOT want third-world chomos, rapists, and parasites invading our countries. We do NOT want “green” B.S. reducing our standard of living to what it was in the 15th century. We do NOT want a third world war. We do NOT want 15-minute cities, social credit scores, carbon quotas, degeneracy indoctrination in schools, disparagement of our history and identity, etc.

You mention freedom? Who just imposed “online safety” legislation, ushering in the worst censorship since Communism? The E.U. Who demands Hungary stop subsidizing its citizens’ energy bills with its own money? The E.U. Who removes immunity from conservative politicians for alleged embezzlement but not from rabid Leftists for violent assaults? The E.U. Who demands overturning of elections whose results it doesn’t like (q.v. Romania)? The E.U.

Hopefully you are right, and this despicable, ghastly, revolting monstrosity completely disintegrates sooner than later. I can’t wait!

      • Hungary has had its’ populist government for 15 years and what is the result? Hungary has the lowest standard of living in the EU in terms of personal per capita consumption and rampant corruption. Public services such as in education, health care and transport are in crisis. Babis is a former communist party member who faces fraud charges on EU subsidies. He’s another bandit like Orban and the rest of them who steal from the public while distracting them with mindless issues such as “gender” and the Soros bogeyman. One thing with Babis is that he has large business interests that will require him to cooperate with the EU. He won’t be quite the Russian puppet that Orban is.

      • Some of these stuff you mention I have no idea what you refer to as you provide no source, no data, no evidence – nothing. No way to do proper fact checking. But that is the usual conservative propaganda style that Orbán, Szijjártó, Trump etc. frequently use. And unfortunately many people blindly believe these kinds of claims instead of doing any fact-checking.

Nobody in EU wants chomos, rapists, and parasites. Nobody in EU wants war and that is why its important to support Ukraine in keeping the war-mongering Russia at bay.

EU online safety act (I assume you refer to this) is not about pure censorship. Its to remove illegal content, protect users’ fundamental rights and vulnerable groups.

Subsidizing energy bills sounds like totally against free market practices that EU advocates.

I do care about nature. It would be nice if future generations could enjoy nature too. That’s why we need green initiatives – a lot of them – including those biking roads in Budapest.

Do we really want Mega-rich (who became rich from embezzling tax-payers and EU money) local megalomaniacs pushing their agenda and rule our country? I guess people do if they vote for right wing populist conservatives.

  2. What, no “Russian interference” allegations this time?

Has it at long last dawned on the usual suspects that such claims just make people laugh now?
