Entire arsenal of criminal law being deployed against drug dealers in Hungary

The entire arsenal of criminal law and criminal policy is being deployed against drug dealers, the parliamentary state secretary of the justice ministry told a conference on Wednesday.
At the opening of the conference entitled The Fight Against Drugs on New Foundations held in Debrecen, eastern Hungary, Róbert Répássy said action against dealers could be effective only if communities excluded them and cooperated with the authorities.
László Horváth, the government commissioner for eradicating drug trafficking, told the conference that early today an extensive and coordinated police operation began against drugs, drug producers and dealers throughout the country.
Five hundred police officers are participating in the operation at 47 locations, with staff from nine counties and the Budapest Police Headquarters participating, under the supervision of 14 prosecution organisations, he added.
