Romania’s National Day celebrated in Budapest with concert and reception

Romania’s National Day was celebrated in Budapest on 26 November with an elegant classical music concert and reception hosted by the Embassy of Romania, with the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute. The event took place at the National Dance Theatre (Nemzeti Táncszínház), one of the city’s most prestigious cultural venues.

H.E. Mr Gabriel Șopandă, Ambassador of Romania to Hungary, delivered the opening remarks, highlighting the significance of Romania’s National Day and the importance of Romanian–Hungarian relations. The evening featured a performance by the Romanian Chamber Orchestra (RCO) String Quartet, with a programme including works by George Enescu, Ciprian Porumbescu, Dimitrie Cantemir, Béla Bartók, Grigoraș Ionică Dinicu and Radu Sinaci.

The celebration brought together representatives of the diplomatic corps, academia and the business community from both Hungary and Romania, as well as members of the Romanian community in Hungary, creating a warm and festive atmosphere in honour of Romania’s national holiday.
