Santa Trolley hits the streets of Budapest again!

Budapest’s beloved Santa Trolley is back on the streets this year, bringing a touch of festive magic to the capital. From 5 December (Friday) to 17 December (Wednesday), Santa and his helper will once again collect shoebox-wrapped gifts, which will be delivered to the country’s poorest children through the Baptist Charity Service. The Santa Trolley runs on trolleybus lines 72, 75, 76, 77, 80 and 82, before transforming into a sparkling Light Trolley from 19 December (Friday) to 4 January (Sunday).

Santa Trolley back on the streets

On 5 December, the Harmony Kids Choir performed for Santa in Városháza Park before he set off with his helper aboard the Santa Trolley to collect gifts for children in need. For the festive season, BKV has decorated the trolley with glowing fairy lights, while the interior features enchanting winter décor. Children travelling alongside Santa can listen to Christmas tales from Pagony Publishing’s seasonal book selection. Until 17 December, short children’s poems will also be played daily on board to enhance the festive atmosphere.

The Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) has once again joined the Baptist Charity Service’s Shoebox Campaign, with Santa and his Elf personally receiving the donations until 17 December. Their mission is to bring Christmas joy to Hungary’s most disadvantaged children and make the holidays special for hundreds of families.
