The legendary Scorpions comes to Hungary next summer – videos

Next summer, the legendary Scorpions will once again take to the stage in Hungary. Renowned as one of the most successful hard rock bands of all time, the iconic group will mark their 60th anniversary with a spectacular concert at the MVM Dome on 20 June 2026.
Scorpions in Budapest again
The German band is hitting the road again next year to celebrate six decades filled with chart-topping hits and unforgettable performances. Having played in Hungary numerous times before — their most recent visit was just last year — Scorpions continue to captivate audiences worldwide, Live Nation announced to MTI on Tuesday.
Formed in 1965 by guitarist Rudolf Schenker in Hanover, Scorpions quickly rose to become one of the most acclaimed rock bands in Germany and continental Europe.

With over 100 million albums sold and more than 5,000 concerts under their belt, the band have toured nearly every corner of the globe. Their electrifying performances have lit up stages in Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo, Moscow, Washington, Dubai, Paris, and Berlin, among others. In the United States, numerous celebrated bands such as Smashing Pumpkins, Green Day, Korn, System of a Down, and Queensrÿche have covered Scorpions songs. Their anthem Rock You Like a Hurricane alone has more than 150 recorded versions.
In a historic moment in 1988, Scorpions became the first Western rock band to play five sold-out shows in the then-Soviet Union, staging concerts in Leningrad. They also broke new ground in China and Southeast Asia, becoming the first Western band to perform in many places there.
Scorpions + Hungarian Omega
The band rose to worldwide fame during the 1980s and paid tribute to the political changes of the era with their iconic track Wind of Change. Klaus Meine and Rudolf Schenker even joined Hungarian rock legends Omega on stage at their rainy 1994 stadium concert, where Kóbor and Meine sang “Fekete pillangó” in Hungarian and Wind of Change in English together.
This musical friendship was reciprocated in 2009 at the Sportaréna in Budapest and later in Košice during a Scorpions show, featuring Kóbor János and guitarist György Molnár. In 1995, Scorpions released an English version of Omega’s hit “Gyöngyhajú lány” under the title White Dove. The two legendary bands reunited once more in June 2014, performing together before tens of thousands at Heroes’ Square in Budapest to mark the 25th anniversary of the political transformation.
And the Hungarian original:
The band’s current line-up includes founding member Rudolf Schenker and lead vocalist Klaus Meine, alongside guitarist Matthias Jabs, bassist Pawel Maciwoda, and drummer Mikkey Dee.
