The English-language poetry collection “The Flying Leaf” by renowned Uzbek poet Shukhrat Arif has been published by “VK Global Publications”, marking another milestone in the dynamic cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Uzbekistan and India.

In recent years, bilateral ties between the two countries have been increasingly strengthened across multiple fields, including collaborations between creative unions, publishing houses, and media organizations. The release of Arif’s work in English carries special significance, as it helps to bring contemporary Uzbek literature to a global audience and deepens mutual understanding between the peoples of Uzbekistan and India.

This cultural exchange is particularly meaningful for young people, offering them an opportunity to explore the values, perspectives, and worldviews of their peers across borders through modern poetry. The English translation of Arif’s poems was skillfully rendered by talented Uzbek poet Munira Norova, reflecting the rich linguistic and artistic nuances of the original work.

The formal presentation of The Flying Leaf is scheduled for January 2026 at the prestigious “New Delhi World Book Fair”, one of the world’s most respected international literary events.

Shukhrat Arif is recognized as a proactive promoter of Uzbek literature abroad. In 2025 alone, his works have been published in Turkish in Ankara (“Mavi Erk”) and in Kyrgyz in Bishkek (“44-Kuz”).

The new poetry collection not only enriches cross-cultural dialogue but also opens new avenues for sustained collaboration between literary and publishing circles in Uzbekistan and India, further strengthening the bonds of creative diplomacy.
