Study in Venice: Top Italian university offers EUR 10,000-a-year scholarships for Hungarian and international students!

Hungarian students considering studying abroad now have a new opportunity in Italy, as the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice has announced a generous merit-based scholarship programme for the 2026/2027 academic year.
In cooperation with the Italian Embassy in Hungary, the university is encouraging high-achieving international applicants – including those from Hungary – to apply for financial support worth approximately EUR 10,000 per year.
The initiative aims to attract talented students from around the world to study in Venice, one of Europe’s most historic and culturally rich academic destinations.

28 scholarships for bachelor’s and master’s students
Ca’ Foscari will award a total of 28 honours scholarships to new students enrolling in degree programmes taught in either Italian or English.
The funding structure is designed to support students for the full length of their studies:
- 8 scholarships for bachelor’s students, worth EUR 10,000 annually for three years
- 20 scholarships for master’s students, worth EUR 10,000 annually for two years
The grants are renewable each year, provided students maintain strong academic performance.
Who can apply?
Applicants must hold a qualification that allows them to enter an Italian university bachelor’s or master’s programme. Degrees can be obtained either outside Italy or from an Italian institution located abroad. Notably, there are no nationality restrictions, meaning Hungarian students are fully eligible.
Candidates are ranked based on several criteria, including:
- a cumulative grade point average equivalent to at least 85%
- a short motivational video
- one or two academic reference letters
- proof of language proficiency in the programme’s language of instruction
Extra support through the International College
Students seeking an enhanced academic experience can also consider Ca’ Foscari’s International College, an honours school offering interdisciplinary courses alongside a regular degree.
Selected students receive substantial financial assistance covering tuition, additional courses, tutoring and accommodation in the Santa Marta Residential Complex. Thanks to these benefits, bachelor’s students pay just EUR 1,000 per year, while master’s students pay EUR 1,500.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted through the university’s online portal. The deadline for the scholarship call is 31 March 2026.
Prospective students are advised to register early, prepare the required documents and check admission rounds carefully based on their citizenship and study plans.
