Hungarian police have arrested a 48-year-old man who had been hiding from authorities for nearly ten months and was listed among the country’s Top 50 most wanted criminals.
The man was captured on 5 March in the village of Kápolnásnyék, Fejér County, according to the official police website. Officers tracked him down to a construction site, where they carried out the arrest.
He had been wanted after failing to report to prison to begin serving a court-ordered sentence.

The man had been convicted of sexual coercion committed against a person under the age of 14. The Székesfehérvár Court ordered his imprisonment, but he did not present himself by the required deadline, prompting authorities to issue a warrant and place him on the national Top 50 most wanted list.
Because of the severity of the crime and his failure to surrender, police began actively searching for him.
