Young man falls from third-floor window onto car in central Budapest

A 24-year-old man fell from a third-floor window onto a parked car in central Budapest, police have confirmed.

Photos of the accident emerged in a Budapest social media group

Photos circulating in a local Erzsébetváros Facebook group show a vehicle with a shattered windscreen parked outside a residential building at Vörösmarty Street 19. According to the post, a man reportedly fell from the building and landed on the car below.

The Budapest Police Headquarters confirmed the incident when contacted by Hungarian media. Authorities said a 24-year-old man had fallen from a window, but no suspicion of foul play has emerged so far.

Early social media reports suggested the victim might be French. However, according to additional information cited by local reports, the man is believed to be an Algerian national, reports 24.hu.

There are some controversies regarding the injuries of the man, but apparently, despite the dramatic fall, the young man reportedly survived and is no longer in life-threatening condition.

Police have not disclosed further details about the circumstances of the fall, and it remains unclear how the incident occurred. Investigations are ongoing.
