New Budapest Airport FlixBus service launches in days as Wizz Air rolls out in-flight perk

In just a few days, travellers from Budapest’s city centre will have a fresh option to reach Ferenc Liszt International Airport, beyond the familiar 100E and 200E routes: scheduled FlixBus services. Meanwhile, Wizz Air is introducing a convenience that will delight many passengers.
FlixBus launches route to Budapest airport
According to Pénzcentrum, the coach operator – best known for its frequent services to Vienna (an average of 27 daily) and nearby capitals – marks 10 years in Hungary this year. From late March, it will run direct buses between Keleti station and Budapest airport. The 100E and 200E lines, which start from Deák Ferenc tér in the heart of the city, will remain unaffected.
The new FlixBus route not only bridges the gap to the airport but also eases journeys for those arriving by train from anywhere in Hungary at Keleti.
FlixBus currently operates 66 international lines from Budapest, with 110 daily departures linking the capital to 253 cities across 17 countries. In Hungary, it serves 19 stops in 14 cities, including six newcomers: Keleti and Déli stations, Esztergom, Sárvár, HévÃz, and Keszthely.
Service starts sparingly
FlixBus argues that Volánbusz’s domestic monopoly must end, with this airport link – inspired by its successful Vienna airport route – as the first step. For now, it runs just once daily in each direction: departing Keleti at 8.45 AM and arriving at the airport by 9.30 AM; the return leaves at 8.45 PM and reaches Keleti by 9.45 PM.
Wizz Air unveils major onboard upgrade
Hungary’s budget carrier Wizz Air, partnering with Immfly and Gateretail, is launching a new in-flight service: Bluetooth-enabled ordering of onboard products straight from your seat, via the airline’s mobile app.
Aircraft based in London will also pioneer “wireless purchases of films, TV shows, podcasts, music and games; WhatsApp messaging mid-flight; and real-time flight information pages”, reports Pénzcentrum.
