Young man in Budapest walked into river Danube in broad daylight

A young Moroccan man has gone missing in broad daylight in the heart of Budapest, prompting an urgent public appeal for information. The incident happened on 5 April at around 15:25 near the Bálna Budapest building, a busy area along the Danube. Witnesses say the man calmly walked into the water and has not been seen since.
Public appeal for witnesses and video footage
Friends of the missing 26-year-old, identified as Belkass Yacine, have taken to social media asking for witnesses or anyone with video footage of the incident to come forward. They believe several people may have recorded the moment on their phones. Despite attempts by the outlet Blikk to speak with the group, friends have declined to comment further, saying their priority is gathering evidence that could help clarify what happened.
Ongoing search by police
The police have been searching for the man since the day of his disappearance. Authorities confirmed he was last reliably seen inside the Bálna complex shortly before entering the river. The case has sparked concern due to its unusual nature and the fact it occurred in daylight in a crowded location. Authorities are continuing to investigate and urge anyone with information to contact them immediately.
