Hungary, Austria, Slovenia officials to discuss EU external border protection
Budapest, June 9 (MTI) – Ministers of interior and defence from Hungary, Austria and Slovenia will meet in the coming weeks to discuss protection of the European Union’s external borders and what to do with migrants whose asylum claims have been rejected.
Defence ministers István Simicskó of Hungary and Hans Peter Doskozil of Austria on Thursday surveyed the regional impact of migration, and they agreed that cooperation between the three countries should be intensified. They also agreed to step up military and defence cooperation between Austria and Hungary, Simicskó told a press conference after the meeting.
The ministers praised excellent cooperation between Austrian and Hungarian peacekeepers stationed in Kosovo and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
