Migrants must be helped in first safe country, says Ader
Helsinki, June 15 (MTI) – Migrants heading to Europe must be helped in the first safe country and the European Union tailor financing accordingly, the Hungarian president said in Helsinki, where he held talks with his Finish counterpart before travelling on to attend a conference in Lahti.
János Áder will attend and address the 7th World Congress of Finno-Ugric Peoples opening on Wednesday afternoon.
Speaking at a joint press conference after his talks with Sauuli Niinisto, Ader noted Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s proposal for the EU to set aside 6 billion euros in migration aid for countries outside the bloc had been adopted only partially.
Migration is a three-fold issue that must be examined from human rights, criminal and security-policy aspects, Áder said. Yet the EU has considered it almost solely as a human rights issue, he said. Brussels has sought to downplay the security aspects and has seemed “to neglect” its criminal aspect, Áder added, underlining the importance of cooperation of police forces and security services across Europe.
Asked about the Hungarian government’s national referendum on the EU’s mandatory migrant quota scheme, Ader said that if the Constitutional Court approves the question by the end of June he would set the date for early autumn.
He said he had discussed with Niinisto ways to boost economic cooperation and identified prospects in the areas of renewable energy and IT.

It still appears that the EU either do not have the will to solve the Immigration problem or they are clueless how to resolve it, I suspect the latter.
