Global education conference starts in Budapest
Budapest, July 11 (MTI) – Over 200 professionals are attending the World Council for Curriculum and Instruction (WCCI) conference, which started on Monday in Budapest to discuss challenges in education.
Miklós Réthelyi, chairman of the Hungarian National Committee of UNESCO, said in his opening speech that education holds a significant responsibility for citizens around the world, since it has an impact on families, local communities and entire countries.
Former UNESCO director-general Federico Mayor Zaragoza highlighted education as the solution to problems facing the world today, such as poverty and environmental challenges.
Hungary first hosted the conference in 2010.
