Farmgate prices up 1.5 pc in June
Budapest, August 15 (MTI) – Farmgate prices in Hungary were up by an annual 1.5 percent in June, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Monday.
The price of live animals and animal products fell by 1.8 percent, but crop prices climbed 3.5 percent.
Grain prices rose by 8.7 percent as wheat prices fell by 10 percent but maize prices rose by 24 percent.
Fruit prices were up by 6.9 percent and vegetable prices increased by 4.1 percent. Potato prices were up by 26.2 percent.
In the first half of the year farmgate prices rose by annual 1 percent as crop prices increased by 4.4 percent and the price of livestock and animal products fell by 4.9 percent.
