Chimney Cake Festival this week
After 3 successful years, the 4th Chimney Cake Festival is being held this week, writes kulturaonline.hu. As previously, attendance to the gastro event is free of charge and bumping into delicious cakes is guaranteed.
The central attention is focused at the popularization of chimney cakes, these modern food items which are traditional but able to be renewed at the same time. The delicacies have a great past of over 200 years and are included in the Hungarian Collection of Values and also are on the verge of becoming Hungaricums.
They have proven that it is not only Hungary that adores them, but different parts of the world acknowledged the fineness of the tasty treats and offer them for their locals, as well.
This year the Chimney Cake Festival awaits visitors on October 7-9, at the area of the Vajdahunyad Castle, in Budapest’s Városliget (the City Park). The event is free and gives an insight into the original and traditional ways of making the cake.
Furthermore, music programmes will be also available, just to name a few: the first night of the event hosts the concert of the Margaret Island, while on the second night,Vera Tóth will take the stage, and Bea Palya will entertain the audience on the third and final night of the festival.
Should you be interested and need more information, make sure to check out the website of the Chimney Cake Festival or join the Facebook event.
