Hungarian wine is among the world’s top 100
According to szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu, the World Association of Writers and Journalists of Wines and Spirits (WAWWJ) puts together the lists of the best wines, wineries and wine producing countries every year. These are very prestigious lists, good rankings are worth serious professional acknowledgements. Hungary did very well this year: we are the world’s 14th best wine producer country and a Hungarian wine is the world’s 28th best wine.
Our successful wine is Bock Winery’s Bock Libra Cuvée 2011 red wine, which received six awards. The Bock Winery describes the wine as “a full-bodied, concentrated wine, which is outstandingly rich in aromas and deep in flavours. It is characterised by deep intensity, blackish colour and the flavours of overripe fruits, tobacco and milk chocolate. Besides dried fruits, the flavours are dominated by chocolate.”
The top 10 wine producer countries of 2016:
- France
- USA
- Spain
- Italy
- Portugal
- Australia
- Chile
- Argentina
- South Africa
- New Zealand
