Wizz Air Flights Avoid Eastern Ukraine Airspace
Budapest, July 17 (MTI) – All Wizz Air flights will avoid entering eastern Ukraine airspace until further notice, the Hungarian low-cost airline told MTI on Thursday.
The announcement was made in the aftermath of reports about a Boeing 777 passenger aircraft operated by Malaysia Airline that crashed, amid allegations of a missile attack, with 295 persons aboard on the way from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur in Donetsk county earlier on Thursday afternoon.
Several other airlines including Lufthansa, Air France and Turkish Airlines, had previously announced that their flights would avoid the Donetsk airspace. Russia’s Aeroflot and Transaero said their flights would avoid Ukraine as a whole.
