Online purchases in Hungary projected to rise by 10 pc in 2017
Budapest (MTI) – The volume of online purchases in Hungary is expected to increase by 10 percent in 2017, pollster and market research company Ipsos said in a report published on Thursday.
Hungarian purchases from online stores abroad are likely to rise by 19 percent, according to international research commissioned by online payment company PayPal.
The survey found that 30 percent of Hungarian internet users visited foreign online stores for their low prices, while 33 percent searched for products unavailable in Hungary.
Whereas Hungarians are not generally fussed if an online store is foreign- or Hungarian-owned, more would shop at foreign stores if they offered Hungarian-language services.
Meanwhile, more and more Hungarian companies are selling to foreign markets online, particularly when it comes to digital products and travel services, as well as fashion items and automotive components. Hungarians could boost their appeal to foreigners online by enhancing customer services, introducing free package and postage as well as ensuring safe payment methods.
The biggest buyer markets as far as Hungarian traders are concerned are the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany.
