Another fight round between the biggest opposition parties before the 2024 elections?
The opposition Momentum party’s refusal to take part in primary elections in the voting districts of Győr, Szigetszentmiklós and Dunakeszi — where no agreement has been reached on a joint candidate — jeopardises the victory of the opposition, László Varju, an MP of the opposition Democratic Coalition (DK), told a press conference on Saturday.
Varju called on Momentum not to boycott the primaries and let voters decide on the joint opposition candidates in the city and towns in question.
In 2019, Fidesz was defeated in Budapest and a number of other cities precisely because the opposition fielded joints candidates everywhere, Varju said.

Another example of the URGENT need to CULL the useless, non effective number(s) of OPPOSITION party’s that just STRANGULATE the Hungarian Political arena – and makes the word OPPOSTION meaningless.
The present number of registered OPPOSITION party’s “on the books” in the corruptive Political environment, the biggest player the present Orban led Government / Fidesz, – the POLITICS they play off and on each other IDIOTIC that makes the word OPPOSTION – it’s usage used in an insulting manner.
The ineffectuality of the OPPOSTION party’s structure, in the Hungarian Political “landscape” – the humongous variations of Policy’s, the MASS negative effect it imposes on Hungary – the FUTURE or Saving of Hungary if we continue under the “curse” of the Victor Mihaly. Orban “ideologies” – the URGENT need to Cull opposition Party numbers Must Happen.
The system, look at History – it is IMPOSSIBLE to with the number of registered alive active OPPOSITION party’s that factually is a OBSTRUCTION massively to the Hungarian Political system, that impairs disallows OPPOSTIONS – to EVER find a Middle Ground – a common place & absolutist joined togetherness in SOLIDARITY to be a one voiced – OPPOSITION – in the “need” to urgently bring down or remove from office the present Orban/Fidesz Government of Hungary.
Cull numbers – for the FUTURE of Hungary – OPPOSTION party numbers.
@Obstruction through Numbers, the problem is that the opposition has nothing they really fundamentally agree on other than that they would like to be in power. Each party exists in its own bizarre little bubble of conspiracy theories or meaningless soundbytes. We saw in the last election how Marky-Zaj Peter ran an entire campaign saying more or less that he didn’t really know what he would do if he came to power, and received a lot of support money and even more applause from NGOs and foreign governments for saying it. Some of the opposition parties could put up a donkey for election and some people would still vote for it. As long as there is no demand for accountability and responsibility coming from the voters themselves, this is not going to change. They need to start off by firing the leadership who have been there far too long and have become far too toxic.
