Azovstal – saving hundreds of lives

The Azovstal plant, which belongs to the richest man of Ukraine, Rinat Akhmetov, has become a symbol of Ukrainian confrontation with Russians, who kill innocent people every day including children. The businessman who owns this factory was born and grew up in Donetsk and also started his business here. Unfortunately, after the Russian invasion in 2014 and the occupation of the Donetsk region, the wealthiest man lost most of his business — the stadium Shakhtar, gas stations, as well as factories.Â
Based on Forbes.com.
But after the loss of his property, the businessman said that he is not going to stop his business in Ukraine and especially leave Ukrainians alone with this terrible tragedy.
In an interview, he also said that he believes that Putin will not stop at Ukraine alone, he is ready to destroy all countries where there is democracy, freedom, and independence.
Moreover, Akhmetov’s employees receive salaries and also work to help all Ukrainians who have been forced to leave their homes and jobs. Russia is doing terrible things on the territory of Ukraine, dropping bombs on maternity homes, theatres, and residential buildings.
The most terrible point in Mariupol and maybe in all the territory where the war is being conducted — is “Azovstal”. About a thousand Ukrainian military and civilians, including children, were concentrated in the basement. When the attack on the city began, people ran to hide in the factory, as they built reliable large shelters, which became a rescue for these people. At the same time, the factory was surrounded by the Russian military, and the people there were cut off from the whole world, without food and water supplies, it is not even about medical care, because there were hundreds of wounded. Rinat Akhmetov said:
“I am proud that “Azovstal” is our stronghold of resistance in Mariupol”.
Thanks to their sturdy designs, the Ukrainian defenders were able to survive and hide from constant bombardment and shelling. To all this, the defenders were also able to defend themselves all these months and suffer losses from Russia.
