Balaton Sound: 30 new artists, major changes announced about Hungary’s iconic beach festival
This year’s Heineken Balaton Sound promises to bring a diversity of electronic music genres to the scene at Balaton. 30 new names have been added to the list of international acts, in addition to the dozens of previously announced artists such as Marshmello, Paul Kalkbrenner, James Hype, Purple Disco Machine and Timmy Trumpet. As well as the list of names, the organisers have also revealed the new additions to this year’s beach festival.
30 new names announced
“Together with the newly announced performers, our ambition to offer visitors to Heineken Balaton Sound a wide range of electronic music is clearly visible,” said Anna Filutás, the festival’s project manager. As she said, the beach festival will feature mainstream electronic music as well as the best of the underground electronic scene, so the new names announced will significantly strengthen the line-up of the increasingly popular hard techno and hardstyle artists.
We will be joined by one of the most contemporary female DJs, Belgian Amelie Lens. Amelie’s performance is a treat for us because she hasn’t been seen by the Sound audience before, and even though she had her first child last December, she said yes to our invitation,
the project manager said.
She added that this year’s Sound will also feature Adam Beyer, who has been a prominent figure in the techno scene for decades; MEDUZA, the biggest global streaming artist in music history; and Maceo Plex, a Cuban-American DJ in the TOP 100, who released a highly successful new album last December. In addition, Vintage Culture and Stephan Bodzin will also perform.
“The hard techno line-up will be strengthened (alongside the previously announced Nico Moreno) by the impressive and inescapable 999999999, the highly creative and uncompromising Sara Landry, or the new generation of French DJs, Trym,” Anna Filutás added.
Changes at Balaton Sound
The organiser also shared that there will be several changes for visitors. For example, the main entrance and the main stage will be moved to a new location, providing a more comfortable space for the expected large audience. The festival will continue to feature a 1 km long beach area, which attracts many foreign visitors, with waterfront venues, beach parties and comfortable relaxation and water games throughout the festival, day and night.
“On the new big stage, the programs will entertain the audience until dawn, and on the last day we will close with a huge end show, presented by the returning Dutch organising team Q-dance, who excel in the harder styles of electronic dance music,” said Anna Filutás.
