Regarding the best faculties in the country, the top 3 include the Faculty of Humanities at ELTE, the Faculty of Science at ELTE and the Faculty of Medicine at Semmelweis University.

The list is based on student and professor rankings. The creators of the list took into consideration the number of students who chose the university as their first option when applying, the average score of those who were accepted, the number and type of language exams students had, the number of students who had excellent rankings during their high school years in different competitions, the number and rate of professors with academic degrees, the number of students who fall onto professors with academic degree, and the rate of professors with MTA (Hungarian Academy of Science) titles.

“Our multi-aspect approach means that there’s no “best” or “worst” institution, it is better to compare universities, colleges based on several relevant indices” says the issue.

However, the sub-ranking of professors was slightly changed. “In the current flexible teaching structure it’s not clear how the number of students who fall onto professors with academic degree influences the quality of education, so we modified the weighting. This index is not of outstanding importance anymore.”
