Breaking news: Hungarian President sets date of 2022 general election

President János Áder has set April 3 as the date of Hungary’s 2022 general election.

In a statement released by the Office of the President of the Republic, Áder said (the statement in full):

“Thirty-two years ago, as a result of the first free elections, Hungary became an independent, democratic country. I express my thanks to all who played a role in rebuilding the nation.

“This year, for the ninth time, Hungarian citizens with voting rights will be free to decide whom they will entrust with the management of our common affairs.

“Hungary’s Fundamental Law and the Electoral Procedure Act contain clear provisions on the date by which the President of the Republic may set a general election of the members of parliament.

“Based on this statutory mandate, I have set the date of the general election of members of parliament for April 3, 2022, the earliest possible date.”

  1. Orban wanted the elections as soon as possible- before the collapse of the economy.

Right now they barley hold it together with fake data and a big cover up.

  2. @Anonymous

The economy is not collapsing as the Hungarian economy is growing at 6.4 percent, higher than most Western/developed countries. It also has a record of low unemployment rate.

  3. Being “outsider’s” New Zealander’s currently based in Hungary and have been off and on for sometime we have felt far happier here throughout the pandemic and in times prior .
Perhaps you would call us fools ?
Hungary is a very special place and is absolutely paramount in European history and should remain so moving forward!
Being a leader of any country cannot not be an easy task , moreover these day’s !
If there is something I would like to say about your leader Orban Victor he is absolutely proud of Hungary and it’s people wherever they live these day’s and wishes Hungarian’s and their children a positive future moving forward without being influenced by outside idiot ideology .
    If Victor Orban had a
” magic wand ” I am absolutely sure he would use it and make everything perfect ?
Don’t tell anyone but I would swap Victor Orban for “our ” current leader anyday , the same goes for our Australian “cousin’s ” with whom we are also well connected!
That comment could ban us from our own country!

Be a proud Hungarian you are a very special people whom have fought many battle’s to be where you are today treasure what you have with your unique language and history ( no country has a perfect history) your beautiful location within central Europe and beautiful surroundings and stable climate .
If you think your leader wants “bad things” to happen to Hungary and it’s people, sorry there fella but I think you’ve got him wrong?
Your English seems fine perhaps spend sometime
” surfing the net” outside the mainstream to see what goes on elsewhere , perhaps you do?
We know many, many proud Magyar’s and wish them a strong future moving forward and if we are still here I believe if possible, we may stay 🙂
