Budapest to host 14th Diplomatic Charity Fair: Discover the world’s cultures in one day!

The world’s cultures will converge in Budapest on Sunday, 16 November, as the city welcomes the highly anticipated 14th Diplomatic Charity Fair. Organised by the Diplomatic Spouses of Budapest (DSB), this vibrant annual festival promises visitors a day packed with colour, connection, and compassion at the Bálna National Defence Centre (11–12 Fővám Square, 1093 Budapest), from 10 AM to 5 PM.
Celebrating diversity and giving back
Held under the patronage of Ms Zsuzsanna Nagy, spouse of the President of Hungary, the event unites embassies, international organisations, and distinguished guests in a shared commitment to charitable causes. This year marks the fair’s continued tradition of transforming Budapest into a global village for a day, inviting participants to “discover the world’s cultures in one day”.
Attendees can explore national stalls brimming with authentic products, handmade crafts, and unique treasures from all corners of the globe. Notably, every forint raised will support Hungarian charities dedicated to children, families in need, and vulnerable communities, offering hope and kindness as the festive season approaches.
Arts, entertainment, and culinary adventures at the charity fair
The fair boasts a dynamic programme of live music, traditional dances, and multicultural performances, creating a truly international atmosphere. The much-loved International Food Corner returns, serving delectable dishes and delicacies from Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and beyond: an unmissable culinary journey all within a single afternoon.
Children are invited to the dedicated Children’s Corner, featuring imaginative workshops, interactive games, and cultural activities designed to inspire curiosity and nurture respect for diversity from a young age.
Prizes, surprises, and solidarity
Throughout the day, visitors may try their luck at raffle draws, with valuable prizes generously provided by embassies, businesses, hotels, and supporters—making the charitable occasion both meaningful and memorable.
The Diplomatic Charity Fair remains true to its founding mission, with all proceeds this year supporting outstanding Hungarian organisations:
- Egymásért Gemma Sportegyesület – Szeged: Fostering inclusive opportunities and cultural experiences for intellectually disabled youth.
- Dévai Szent Ferenc Alapítvány: Assisting children facing tough life challenges through education and day care.
- Szolnoki Kézműves Körért és a Tisza-mente Népművészetéért Alapítvány: Preserving local heritage, craftsmanship, and folk arts.
