Budapest Advent Feast voted as 4th best in Europe
As we have reported before, the Christmas market found in front of the Saint Stephen’s Basilica was chosen as one of the top 20 Christmas markets in Europe. The European Best Destinations site asks its readers to vote for their favourite fairs every year. This year’s voting was closed a few days ago and we’re thrilled to report that the Advent Feast at the Basilica was chosen as the 4th best market in Europe!
The website aims to popularise the wintery side of European cities – and they have every right to do so since Christmas markets are known for their matchless atmosphere. You’re guaranteed to feel the Christmas spirit while shopping for unique, handmade gifts, tasting local specialities and enjoying warm beverages.
When it comes to Budapest, the selection is quite wide. However, the most popular market is probably the Advent Feast at the Basilica, which can be visited until the 1st of January.
“Discover this enchanting city-centre Christmas celebration rich in Central European holiday traditions; it also features modern elements such as flash mobs, a wide range of the best Hungarian contemporary hand-craft products, and the monumental light show that – with 3D glasses – shows a new dimension to the façade of St. Stephen’s Basilica ” recommends the website.
With its picturesque scenery, dozens of vendors in charming booths, regional food delicacies, and diverse entertainment, Budapest’s Advent Feast is increasingly regarded as one of Europe’s must-see Christmastime events – it is Hungary’s only festive-season fair ranked among 2017’s Best Christmas Markets in Europe by the popular “European Best Destinations” travel website.
Make sure to visit Europe’s 4th best Christmas market in the heart of Budapest 😉
