Tourists face higher fares for a Budapest Airport bus ride from tomorrow
Starting tomorrow, the 100E Budapest Airport Express line can be used at a discounted fare, for the price of two single tickets (1,000 HUF), in combination with a digital or paper pass valid for public transport in Budapest. The add-on ticket is available in the BKK BudapestGO app and needs to be validated upon boarding after presenting a valid pass.
Budapest Airport express will be more affordable for locals
From 1 October 2025, travel between the city centre and the airport will become more affordable: holders of a valid Budapest-pass (except for 15-day Budapest passes), Pest County Pass or Hungary Pass, either in paper or digital form, can purchase a ticket for the 100E Budapest Airport Express line for the price of two single tickets, i.e. 1,000 HUF (EUR 2.5).
The add-on airport shuttlebus single ticket is available in the BudapestGO app under “Further transport tickets” and can only be purchased and validated if you have a valid (digital or paper) pass. Passengers must present their valid pass upon boarding, after which they need to validate the add-on ticket.

Tourists will have to pay more
In addition to the introduction of the new ticket type, another change is that from 1 October 2025, the price of a single ticket valid for the 100E line purchased without a pass will increase from 2,200 HUF to 2,500 HUF (EUR 6.4). It’s important to note that if passengers do not have a valid Budapest-pass, Pest County Pass or Hungary Pass, either full-price or discounted, they are not eligible to travel with an add-on airport shuttlebus single ticket.

If you have accidentally purchased an add-on ticket, you can get a refund for the unused product or purchase an airport shuttlebus single ticket for 2,500 HUF in the app, which will allow you to use the 100E Airport Express line. Those under the age of 14, over the age of 65, and those with a pensioner pass or Hungarian State Treasury (MÁK) Card can continue to use the 100E Airport Express free of charge.
