Budapest Fashion Week in September to present 100 collections from Central Europe

Some 100 collections from Hungary and countries in the region will be presented at the 16th Budapest Central European Fashion Week from Sept 1 to 7, the Hungarian Fashion and Design Agency (MDDU) said on Monday.

This year’s Fashion Week will provide “a greater focus than ever before on young Hungarian designers”, the agency said in a statement, adding that for the first time graduates of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art (MOME) and the Budapest Metropolitan University will make their debut at the event.

Apart from the Hungarian participants, designers from the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Serbia, and Ukraine will show their collections “reflecting the innovative thinking of the next generation”, the statement said.

Fashion Week will open at the National Museum on Sept 1, while its events will take place at the MOME campus, the Apollo Gallery, Millenaris Park, and the National Dance Theatre during the week.

The Fashion Week attracts 5,000-6,000 visitors each year.
