Budapest International Documentary Festival attracts large audiences
The fifth Budapest International Documentary Festival (Budapesti Nemzetközi Dokumentumfilm Fesztivál) screened 39 films between January 28 and February 3 in the city’s Arena Plaza, organisers told MTI on Monday, adding that the screenings were held to full houses.
Films in the festival, entitled “The Naked Truth”, were awarded in five categories.
Among the winners were Over the Limit by Marta Prus, A Letter from Masanjia by Leon Lee, Genesis 2.0 by Christian Frei, Mignon by Kata Oláh and Sándor Csukás and America by Erick Stoll and Chase Whiteside.
“This year’s films tackled complex, acute, often taboo topics — they fascinated the jury and the audience alike,” organisers said.
