Budapest Smog Alert Withdrawn
Budapest, November 4 (MTI) – A smog alert has been withdrawn in Budapest since the concentration of airborne particles has now fallen to the desired level, the mayor’s office said today.
Over the weekend, authorities measured concentrations of particles that exceeded “warning level”, which means it could be dangerous for sensitive groups such as children, the elderly or people with chronic illnesses. Monday’s reading showed, however, that thanks to favourable changes in weather conditions, the concentration had dropped.
The smog alert was implemented on Sunday morning.
