Budapest, St Petersburg sign cooperation agreement
Budapest, December 16 (MTI) – Budapest Mayor Istvan Tarlos and St Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko on Wednesday signed a cooperation agreement between their cities, the mayor’s office told MTI.
The Budapest city council approved the signing of the pact on December 2.
Under the agreement, the two cities will cooperate in water purification and sanitation, cultural heritage and protection of monuments, public transport development, improving the city environment and exchanging experiences on urban and real-estate management.
The mayor’s office noted in its statement that Tarlos signed the agreement during his ongoing five-day visit to St Petersburg. Tarlos attended the closing ceremony of the 4th St Petersburg International Cultural Forum and inspected the first business incubator in St Petersburg.
