BYD of China wins tender for supplying Budapest public transport company with K9 electric buses
Budapest public transport company leases five K9 electric buses from BYD of China reported city officials.
The 12-meter-long low-floor urban K9 electric buses were already tested by Budapest public transport company in the past year. Then, it was found that the well-built, high-tech buses produced by BYD have the potential to conquer the entire world.
The K9 electric bus family was launched in the 2010 and thousands of these units have already been running around the world. In Europe alone, more than one hundred K9 electric buses are in circulation. Most recently, Amsterdam Schiphol International Airport replaced its old bus fleet with BYD electric buses.
The Chinese company has also opened a bus assembly plant in the United States.
The first K9 electric buses will arrive in Hungary in the first half of 2016.
