Budapest, July 17 (MTI) – Due to the sustained heat wave, the chief medical officer has declared a heat alert from the start of Friday to the end of Sunday.

The state public health body (ANTSZ) said in a statement on Thursday that the national weather service and forecast hotter and hotter temperatures over the next few days, averaging over 25 C over a 24 hour cycle.

The heat alert comes with advice to drink plenty, avoid sun between 11am and 3pm and to protect skin.
