Chamber head warns of migration crisis effects on Hungarian businesses
Budapest, September 9 (MTI) – The negative economic impact of the current migration crisis is likely to be felt by a significant number of Hungarian businesses, the head of the Hungarian Chamber of Trade and Industry (MKIK) said on Wednesday.
The migration crisis could result in instability, with a knock-on impact on domestic consumption and investments , Laszlo Parragh told a conference on small and medium-sized firms hosted by MKIK.
The central budget is also under pressure, as Hungary has already spent several tens of billions of forints on measures aimed at handling the crisis, he said.
Parragh spoke in support of firm government action and said he trusted the situation would be settled.
