Coca-Cola to invest EUR 5.5m in capacity expansion
Coca-Cola HBC Magyarország is investing 1.8 billion forints (EUR 5.5m) in an expansion of its mineral water plant in Zalaszentgrót in western Hungary, the company said on Monday.
The company is starting up production of its new “glaceau smartwater” premium product, a vapor distilled water with added electrolytes.
Coca-Cola will initially sell the water in Italy, Austria, Russia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Serbia, Croatia and Ireland.
Annual production could ramp up to 100m bottles in the next years.
Minas Agelidis, general manager for Coca-Cola Hungary, said smartwater has already become a leading premium product in the UK and the US.
