Coldplay to play in Hungary again after 16 years
On 16 June 2024, after 16 years, Coldplay, one of the world’s most famous rock bands, will perform again in Budapest, at the Puskás Arena.
After 16 years, the world-famous band Coldplay will return to Budapest. According to Live Nation, the band will perform for the first time in their history in Athens, Bucharest and Helsinki. Coldplay’s tour next year will start in June 2024 in the Greek capital. The tour will include a concert in Budapest on 16 June.
The band’s Music of the Spheres world tour kicked off last March and has since sold more than 7.5 million tickets.
Coldplay have only been to Hungary in 2008, when they performed at the Budapest Sport Arena to surprisingly little interest, index.hu reports.
Coldplay’s current tour has resulted in 47 percent fewer carbon emissions per concert than the previous tour, according to a report from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and the environmentally conscious band has so far planted a tree for every audience member worldwide. The seven-time Grammy Award-winning band has sold more than 100 million albums and recorded nine studio albums.
