Coronavirus – Further 12 patients die, 2,942 registered as infected
A further 12 people, all of whom had underlying illnesses, have died in Hungary, bringing the total number of deaths to 335, while the number of registered novel coronavirus infections has increased by 79 to 2,942, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Saturday morning.
Fully 625 people treated for the virus in hospital have recovered, while a total of 1,008 patients are still hospitalised, 52 of whom are on ventilators.
Currently 10,754 people are under official home quarantine, while the number of tests carried out stands at 79,551.
The virus is still being spread in the community through personal contact, though the authorities are preparing for mass infections.
The most cases are in Budapest (1,448 people), followed by Pest County (394), Fejer county (298) and Komarom-Esztergom County (121). Vas County (14) has the lowest number of infections in Hungary.
