Coronavirus in Hungary: 77 hospitals to receive coronavirus patients
From Tuesday, a total of 77 facilities will be involved in treating coronavirus patients nationwide, Chief Medical Officer Cecília Müller said on Monday.
Separate institutions will be assigned for children infected with Covid-19, as well as for patients needed dialysis, she told a press conference of the operative body responsible for handling the epidemic.
Under the same decree of Human Resources Minister Miklós Kásler,
elective operations will be postponed from Tuesday,
she added.
Currently, some 60 percent of hospital beds are occupied in Hungary, and there are still intensive care beds and ventilators at hand, Müller said. “At the same time, the equipment will also have to be operated” and sufficient number of doctors and nurses will be needed to treat the incoming patients, she said.
