Coronavirus in Hungary: here are the latest numbers – March 22, 2022
Altogether 48 patients died of a Covid-related illness in the past 24 hours, while 1,495 new coronavirus infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Monday.
So far 6,400,633 people have received a first jab, while 6,183,487 have been double-jabbed. Fully 3,835,159 Hungarians have received a booster third shot and 243,058 a fourth shot.
The number of active infections has gone down to 103,266, while
hospitals are treating 2,062 Covid-19 patients, 78 of whom are intubated on a ventilator.
Since the first outbreak, 1,831,423 have been registered with the virus, while
45,143 deaths have been recorded.
Fully 1,683,014 people have made a recovery.
Hungary is in the fifth wave of the epidemic’s descent, which is why the government has lifted the epidemiological restrictions and the obligation to wear a mask. Registration and appointment booking are open for vaccination, and there will be another vaccination campaign from Thursday to Saturday.
