Coronavirus in Hungary: here are the latest numbers – March 24, 2022
Altogether 35 patients died of a Covid-related illness in the past 24 hours, while 2,651 new coronavirus infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Thursday.
So far 6,400,875 people have received a first jab, while 6,184,076 have been double jabbed. Fully 3,836,209 Hungarians have received a booster third shot and 245,137 a fourth shot.
The number of active infections has gone down to 102,239, while
hospitals are treating 1,971 Covid-19 patients, 71 of whom are intubated on a ventilator.
Since the first outbreak, 1,836,919 have been registered with the virus, while
45,220 deaths have been recorded.
Fully 1,689,460 people have made a recovery.
Hungary is in the fifth wave of the epidemic’s descent, which is why the government has lifted the epidemiological restrictions and the obligation to wear a mask. Registration and appointment booking are open for vaccination, and there will be another vaccination campaign from Thursday to Saturday.
