Drugmakers Richter, Egis insure themselves against Russian exports disruption

Russia

Budapest, August 22 (MTI) – Hungarian enterprises such as drug companies Richter and Egis are taking out insurance from the Hungarian Export Credit Insurance Company (Mehib) in order to protect themselves against possible disruptions in their Russian exports, the chief executive of Mehib and Eximbank Roland Natran told MTI today.

Natran added that Eximbank is prepared to provide SMEs with low-interest loans to help them finance efforts to find new markets for products subject to Russia’s ban. The ban was introduced on the import of certain agricultural goods from European Union member states.

Financing exports to Russia makes up a considerable part of Eximbank’s portfolio, Natran added.
