Budapest, December 23 (MTI) – The National Election Office (NVI) has turned down two referendum initiatives seeking to ask voters if a salary cap of a monthly 2 million forints (EUR 6,400) should be reintroduced for managers of state-owned companies.

NVI head Ilona Palffy rejected the initiatives citing a “moratorium on parallel proposals”.

Zoltan Kesz, independent member of parliament of western Hungary’s Veszprem, has 15 days to re-submit his proposal. If he decides to do so, the initiative will be put on the agenda of the National Election Committee, which is to pass a final decision on the matter.
