Emigration: Number Of Hungarians In Germany Up By Over 25pc In One Year
Budapest, March 7 (MTI) – The number of Hungarians registered in Germany’s AZR database of foreign residents increased by 26.3 percent last year compared to 2012, representing one of the highest increases of all nationalities, the German statistical office reported today.
According to the Destatis statement, a total of 7.6 million foreigners lived in Germany at the end of last year, representing a 5.8 percent increase from one year earlier.
The number of Hungarian citizens increased by 28,216 during the year and reached 135,614 by the end of 2013.
As a result, Hungary stood at third place after Syria and Romania on the list of largest increase by country.
