Students can attend Hungary’s Sziget Festival at half price for the first time: here’s how!

Hungarian students are getting a rare opportunity at the start of the year thanks to a cooperation between the Budapest Municipality and the Sziget Organising Office: for the first time ever, they can attend Sziget Festival 2026 with a 50% discount if they purchase a monthly pass via the BudapestGO app. The special offer runs from 19 January to 31 July 2026.

Half-price five-day passes for Sziget 2026

Under the scheme, Hungarian students can buy a five-day festival pass at half price for one of Europe’s largest music festivals, Sziget 2026. The decision was approved by the Budapest City Assembly on 26 November 2025, following an agreement with the Sziget Organising Office, BKK reported.

To access the discount, students must first register on a dedicated BKK subpage using a valid public transport pass. After registration, users will receive a unique coupon code by email, which can be redeemed on the official Sziget website for the product titled “Sziget Student Pass by BudapestGO.”

Who is eligible for the discount?

The promotion is available exclusively to holders of a valid Hungarian student ID, and it is linked to student public transport passes valid for Budapest or nationwide travel. Student IDs and eligibility will be checked by the Sziget Organising Office during entry to the festival.
