Busy Budapest metro line will commute on a reduced route for multiple days in November

On the evenings of November 6 and 7, as well as 20 and 21, plus the weekends of the 8-9 and 22-23, the M2 metro will operate on a reduced route, running only between Örs vezér tere and Deák Ferenc tér due to track maintenance, the Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) informed MTI on Tuesday.

Between Deák Ferenc tér and Déli pályaudvar, replacement buses marked M2 will be available. Additionally, trams 4 and 6 will run more frequently between Pest and Buda to ensure faster travel, the announcement stated.

Track maintenance is taking place on the M2 line between Kossuth Lajos tér and Deák Ferenc tér. The M2 replacement bus will cross Margit Bridge, stopping at both Kossuth Lajos tér and Batthyány tér. Passengers can board towards Déli pályaudvar at Alkotmány Street near Kossuth Lajos tér, and towards Deák Ferenc tér along Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Road. The latter stop can be accessed via trolleybuses 70 and 78, the Hungarian News Agency wrote.

  1. For travelers, tram lines 4 and 6 will run more frequently to help with connections in the affected area. Due to track maintenance, the M2 metro will run on a shortened route.
