Budapest, February 20 (MTI) – Hungary will participate in the European Union’s mission in the Republic of Central Africa, according to a government decree published in the official Hungarian Gazette today.
The Hungarian military will delegate up to 6 staff officers to serve under the mission’s operation command until December 31, 2014, the Gazette said.
Hungary will participate in the mission as part of its European obligations, to contribute to strengthening the EU’s common security and defence policy, the decree said.
The EUFOR RCA mission is designed to ensure international military control over Bangui, the Central African capital, and its surroundings.
