Between 2010 and 2016, almost as many Hungarian children were born abroad as in Hungary in a year, szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu writes.

Since so many Hungarians live abroad, 15pc of Hungarian children are born outside the country. Between 2010 and 2016, 78 thousand children born abroad were registered as Hungarian, a survey revealed.

A Hungarian family talked about their experience to the TV show Házon kívül. They recently moved back from Scotland to Hungary, but getting settled again has not been easy. They still haven’t managed to acquire a social security number for their older child and without that, they cannot enroll the child in kindergarten, according to the head of the family.
