Exclusive VIDEO: Police action in downtown Budapest – UPDATED with police response
People out at night in downtown Budapest were witnesses of an unusual police action recently. One of our readers sent us two videos and his account of what happened on the last night of May.
Unusual police action in downtown Budapest
“I saw three people run through Deák being chased by two police officers,” our reader, who wished to remain anonymous, wrote. According to him, the people being chased looked Indian, “that is why in the video you can hear the police shouting at them in English ‘show me your hands!'”.
One of the three men was caught, the other two kept running. “Within about 30 seconds there were another 7 or 8 police cars and police vans on the scene which started to circle around and look for the other two.”
As our reader wrote, it all happened very quickly, which may mean that it was some kind of organised sting operation.
“I’ve been living in Budapest for ten years and never seen such crazy activity,” he wrote.
Daily News Hungary has reached out to the Budapest Police Headquarters for comment. We will update this article with their response.
